The Eclipse Engine is a game engine made by Arktos Entertainment, originally used for The War Inc. Battle Zone and other games. Infestation: Survivor Stories currently uses an updated version of this engine.
The Eclipse engine has a general server capacity of approximately one hundred people. It supports a high-quality HDR (high Dynamic Range) system, more accurate than the ARMA 2, Source, or other engines. It is said to be easier to modify than other engines.
Since the Eclipse Engine was a pre-existing engine designed for similar quasi-MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) games, it already had anti-cheat features built into it to prevent or at least log the more obvious types of hacks. It currently works to block speedhacks and recognize aimbot and wallhack cheats by heuristic methods. Despite this features in-built into the engine it is not a replacement for a dedicated anti-cheat tool and the plethora of hacks available for WarZ are evidence of this. Sergey has, however, promised improvements and refinements to this system.
